Eleven first year students of IED Milano, winners of the Green Your Future Award scholarship with the role of Green Ambassadors and engaged in various sustainable awareness raising activities within the School met Armando Milani, designer, visual artist and university professor internationally renowned always committed to stimulating interest in social issues of global entity, such as war, pollution, deforestation through its posters collected under the name of Eco-Humanity.
The two-day workshop promoted by the coordinator of the international course of Graphic Design BOB Liuzzo and organized by the IED Milan's Green Office has given life to a symbolism that expresses a dual purpose:
💪 transmit to the designers of tomorrow the great power of communication, which becomes the protagonist of change and social evolution
🌎 to elaborate a visual message that could represent a reaction to climate change according to a typical language of the GenZ: the EMOJIs. Starting from a sentece that Armando Milani himself provided to the design team:
"DEAR 🌎, I AM VERY 😭 TO SEE YOU IN SUCH A TRAGIC CONDITIONS. I HOPE THAT GRETA WILL ✌️ HER BATTLE FOR YOUR SURVIVAL WITH ❤️ ARMANDO"
The project most in line with the idea of Eco-Humanity and with a GenZ oriented language, was the one that translated the Armando's Message through the simplicity of the tic-tac-toe game made with emojis of the 🌎 and the 🔥, the message comes direct: “each of us is responsible for victory or destruction of our planet ". By leveraging one's awareness and ability to act, the individual - together with the community - can decide the fate of humanity and the earth.
