Between Brands and Trends: Bill Gardner, founder of LogoLounge.com in dialogue with the students and teachers of IED – Istituto Europeo di Design of Milan.
Brand and visual identity design, identification and anticipation of stylistic trends. IED Milano opens its doors to an exceptional witness in the world of visual design: Bill Gardner, founder of the well-known Gardner Design studio, author of branding and communication projects for companies such as Pizza Hut, Google, Facebook, founder of LogoLounge.com (the largest international archive and observatory on brand trends and logo design), author of some of the most famous books on branding and identity design.
"Trendy = Bad and Trend = Good is often emphasized when talking about identity - comments Giuseppe Liuzzo, Coordinator of the BA in Graphic Design at IED Milan. - If following “what’s trendy out there” does not pay, what works is instead identifying the stylistic and design trajectories. before they unravel, through the archives and the study of the past and the present; ultimately through linear, adaptive and fusion paths that allow trends to be pushed to their next stage of evolution”.
The Bill Gardner’s talk will be followed by a short panel on "How to influence the design of tomorrow", with special guests who will join him on stage:
Armando Milani
